Oh *%$&$ any technies advise on all my files disappearing after upgrading to Win10?

Left PC to upgrade to Windows 10 overnight. Logged on this morning. No files, no folders.
Looked for info on Microsoft website, says to go to windows.old and click on 'user' folder which I can do but user folder is empty.
Is there anything I can do or am I *****ed?
Tried cunting my PC in the bastard and wiping my knob on the screen obviously.

The last PC I got was on Win 8 which was truly awful
My little notebook PC was on Win 7 which was very good but started to run a bit slowly
I upgraded my Win 8 to Win 10 which was a massive improvement ~ very impressed!
Eventually I upgraded the Win 7 to Win 10, which seemed to sort out the slowness problems
So both on Win 10 now & running ok ~ A few little niggles like having to re-download the WiFi printer drivers
Obviously did a back up first of the important files
Not sure how any lost files can be retrieved ~ but I'm sure somebody clever would know!

Joe really, never heard of that, I've heard of WindowsRE which is a trimmed down version of windows to do maintenance and repairs, but not a full fledged OS

Don't think there's such a thing as a Live CD of Windows, mainly because normally, you can only install Windows to an internal HD and not to any external USB drives or CDs / DVDs?
Actually, there is a way but it's a bit techy to do

Upgraded from 7 but regretting it, only improvement seems to be maybe booting up a few nanoseconds more quickly but it's much harder to find things.

Windows 10 pisses all over 8 & 8.1 and is much more reminiscent of 7/XP, but quicker.
And yes, upgrading without having a backup is stupid.
In fact not having a backup regardless is stupid. At least one onsite one for your entire hard drive so you can restore if you have to replace your existing one (hard drives fail more than people realise) and an off-site one for your important documents so if the worst happens and your house burns down you can still get to them via the cloud)

Thanks for all the suggestions. I followed all the instructions on the Microsoft website which were all shit but eventually realised you can just ask them to phone you and Suresh from India sorted it out... the files were just automatically moved though NOT to where it is advised to look in the instructions on the Microsoft website... and they're not searchable in the file they're moved to during the upgrade.
I love Suresh. He did get a bit funny when I offered to wipe my knob on my knob on the screen as a sign of appreciation.

Now the time you tell us you upgraded your operating system and didn't save them isn't it.

Try and get a Live CD of your previous O/S (NOT the installation disk), fire up the PC using that (it won't touch what's on your computer - it only runs in RAM & on the CD/DVD).
Look for your data files and COPY THEM onto another drive.
Remove the Live CD and reboot. Copy the files back.
Ask your wife if you can borrow the iron. Set it to max and when it's hot, remove your lower garments and press it firmly against your bollocks for 15 minutes or until you stop being a soppy cunt, whichever happens last.

Are you one of those computer users who leaves their documents to save without really knowing where they are and just trust 'recent documents' to open them again?
That's never a good plan. If you know where you store your files just open 'start' and type 'this PC' into the search bar. Then you should be able to navigate to your files. I doubt you'll find them in 'Windows old' as that is just your operating system, not your personal files.
